Hi, I'm Dev.

I'm not going to Italy because I have nothing to build here. I'm going because I want to find out what I can build somewhere else.

Growing up, a lot of my world was already here in India. My parents have a shop, our life is rooted here, and there is something comforting about knowing the streets, the people and the routines around you.

But at some point I started feeling that comfort and growth were becoming two different things.

I wanted to experience what it feels like to walk into a completely unfamiliar place and slowly make it familiar. New people. New culture. A different academic environment. Different ways of thinking.

That's a big reason Italy became important to me. The Master's in Data Science is obviously the academic reason, but the degree is only one part of the journey.

I'm looking for international exposure — not just something I can put on a resume, but experiences that actually change the way I think.

I want to learn how people from different backgrounds approach technology, creativity, work and life. I want to be uncomfortable enough to grow, while still carrying the things that made me who I am.

And honestly, there is another side of me that doesn't want life to be only about classrooms and code.

I've always been drawn towards storytelling, filmmaking and travel. One of my long-term dreams is to travel, meet people, and eventually create cinematic travel documentaries that tell real stories instead of simply showing beautiful places.

So Italy feels like more than a destination. It's a starting point.

A Master's degree. A new country. A new perspective. And hopefully, a few stories worth telling.

Maybe the biggest reason I'm going is simple: I want to see who I become when everything familiar isn't around me anymore.
